The surreal beauty of the Slovenian Alps is the perfect backdrop for unforgettable winter adventures. This wonderland is packed with places to see and snowy activities to engage in, and we’ve compiled the best of them for this winter adventure break.

You will stay at Lake Bled, one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia, which becomes even more magical when covered in a snowy blanket. From there, your adventure break will take you to different stunning locations around the Julian Alps, where you will enjoy fun winter activities.

You will go sledding down a snowy slope, cross-country skiing on a mountain plateau, snowshoeing through the peaceful trails, hiking up a winter peak in the Julian Alps, or even dog-sledding in a hidden Alpine valley.

And the best part of it is — the activities are suitable for anyone, and especially fun for families. And if you are up for more of a challenge, our guides will propose more difficult routes, depending on your capabilities.

If skiing is your preferred way of enjoying the snow, check out our Ski Holidays Bled.

Things to know

The best time to visit Slovenia depends on the type of tour you are interested in. For summer tours, we recommend May-September, as these months offer the best weather for our activities. However, please be aware that bad weather can sometimes cause cancellations or changes to the itinerary. In the case of winter tours, December can be unpredictable, but January-February is the best time for optimal snow conditions.

No, accommodation is included in all of our tours except for the Slovenia Family Activity Holiday. Even in that case, we can assist you with finding a place to stay.

The weather can sometimes impact the activities on our tours. If the weather is particularly bad, we may need to cancel or modify the itinerary to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests. In the case of a cancellation, we will offer a suitable replacement or a partial refund. If you are concerned about the weather, please contact us before your trip to discuss the potential impacts.

While our adventure holidays are designed to be fun and exciting, they do require a certain level of fitness. We recommend that all participants are moderately fit to fully enjoy the activities and avoid any potential injuries. If you have any concerns about your fitness level, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can discuss your options and help you choose the right holiday for you.

The average group size for our adventure holidays depends on the type of tour you choose. Our small group and private tours typically have 4-8 participants, while our family activities can accommodate groups of up to 20 people. This allows us to provide a personalized and intimate experience for all of our guests, regardless of the size of your group.

Yes, we welcome solo travelers on our adventure holidays. However, please be aware that there is a surcharge for single use of a room. Additionally, our small group holidays only depart with a minimum of 4 people. If you are a solo traveler and are interested in one of our small group holidays, we recommend that you contact us to inquire about available dates and discuss any potential surcharges.

Yes, we provide all of the necessary equipment for the activities on our adventure holidays. This includes things like helmets, harnesses, and other safety gear, as well as any specialized equipment that may be required for a particular activity. However, we do need to get your measurements before you arrive to provide the proper fitting gear. We promise we aren’t being nosy, it’s just for your safety and comfort!

We recommend that you bring a swimsuit and towels for any water activities, as well as comfortable shoes that you can move easily in for hiking and cycling. You should also bring comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the activities you will be participating in.

Our adventure holidays only include breakfast, but we make sure to provide plenty of time and options for lunch and dinner. We will provide information about local dining options and will make recommendations based on your preferences and dietary restrictions. We want you to enjoy the local cuisine and have a fantastic dining experience during your adventure holiday, so please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Most of our activities are suitable for children who are at least 12 years old. However, in some cases, the minimum age may be determined by the child’s height or weight rather than their age. If you have any concerns about your child’s ability to participate in a particular activity, please ask us directly. We are happy to provide more information and help you choose the right activities for your family.
